Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan is a service provided by RichLyn Library that allows our users to borrow books and other material from other libraries around the nation. PALShare

PALShare allows us to borrow books and some media from the PALNI consortia which include 23 private academic libraries in Indiana. Those items that are available for lending through PALSHare will have a blue "Place Hold" or "PALShare Request button in the "Availability/Holdings" section of the bibliographic record. Use your HU login and password to sign in then submit your request. You will be notified when RichLyn Library receives the item for lending. The item is picked up and checked out at the Library Service Desk. PALShare books have a 60 day lending period and media is 14 days. No renewals.

Worldshare Interlibrary Loan

  • Books and other media - Monographic resources can be ordered through the Worldcat Catalog or Worldcat Discovery Service. In the "Availability/Holdings" section of the bibliographic record a blue "Request Item" button will take you to a form to request the item. Please fill out the form as much as possible and you must include your barcode number on the back of you ID card. You will be notified when RichLyn Library receives the item for lending (from one to two weeks). The item is picked up and checked out at the Library Service Desk. Material checkout periods are set by the lending library and renewals may be possible.
  • Periodical/Journal Articles - If you are using one of the Ebscohost databases a "Request ILL" link is provided for items that do not have full text. You may also request articles using the Worldcat Catalog or Worldcat Discovery Service. Enter the title of the article as in the search box. A blue "Request Item" button will appear in the "Availability/Holdings" section of the bibliographic record. If you click on the button a form will appear to request the article. The articles will be emailed to you once they are available (usually two to five days).
