You need to be aware of, and knowledgeable about, the 7 steps for reading a research article:

1. Title
2. Abstract
3. Introduction
4. Methods
5. Results
6. Discussion
7. References/Bibliography

Remember that you are only STARTING the conversation when you read a research article.  You need to interact with the information and respond appropriately.
