Church Government
The Church of the United Brethren in Christ, International is governed by a series of documents. The Confession of Faith is the "doctrine" of the denomination and was adopted in 1815. Various other doctrinal statements (U.S.) have been adopted beginning in 1974. There is an International Constitution and each National Conference has their own constitution. The U. S. National Conference Constitution various little from the one adopted in 1841. All National Conferences must adopt the Core Values. Finally the By-Laws provide further guidance on governing the international denomination. Historical documents can be retrieved by clicking on one of the headings in the left-hand box.
